The first TV spot for Brett Ratner‘s upcoming hero epic Hercules has been released online. This take on the ancient Greek legend is described as “a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist.” Which should mean that there are no Gods, no Hydras, no Medusa and no Demi-Gods. But it includes all manner of monsters and three headed dogs so maybe they forgot about their own premise as they were making it.
Anyway. The film takes place after Hercules’ most famous of stories, the twelve labours. Hercules is travelling with a group of mercenaries but is quickly hired to train an army in preparation for a massive battle.
In this new TV spot we get to see some brand new footage, including Hercules throwing a bloody horse. You said grounded reality damn you.
The film also stars John Hurt, Ian McShane and Joseph Fiennes.
Hercules opens in 3D on July 25th.
